The beloved characters created by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts will now be known as The Questioneers.
New York, NY [May 16, 2018]–Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Abrams Children’s Books, announced today the forthcoming publication of Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters, the first chapter book in The Questioneers series from acclaimed author Andrea Beaty and illustrator David Roberts. This new series features characters from the bestselling picture books Iggy Peck, Architect; Rosie Revere, Engineer; and Ada Twist, Scientist; there are now over 2 million copies of these books in print worldwide. Publishing on October 2, 2018, Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters (The Questioneers #1) will have a first printing of 250,000 copies. The series will be edited by Tamar Brazis, Editorial Director of Abrams Books for Young Readers.
Beloved by children, Rosie Revere, Engineer was published in 2013 and has spent over 125 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. It follows a feisty second-grader who learns to overcome adversity while dreaming of becoming an engineer and was bookended by the publications of Iggy Peck, Architect in 2007, Ada Twist, Scientist in 2016, and their follow-up activity books, Rosie Revere’s Big Project Book for Bold Engineers (2017), Iggy Peck’s Big Project Book for Amazing Architects (2017), and Ada Twist’s Big Project Book for Stellar Scientists (2018). Iggy Peck and Ada Twist chapter books will be published after Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters, with additional titles and new characters to follow.
“I am having so much fun exploring the world of the Questioneers and meeting the kids’ families and neighbors,” says Andrea Beaty. “Their town is filled with adventure and lots of quirky, funny, passionate people, just like Rosie, Ada, and Iggy.”
In Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters, Rosie’s engineering spirit is as strong as ever! She is no stranger to flops and fails, kerfuffles and catastrophes. After all, she’s an engineer, and engineering is all about perseverance! But sometimes Rosie has a really important project to tackle—one that feels much bigger than herself. When Rosie’s beloved Aunt Rose and her pals, the Raucous Riveters—a gaggle of fun-loving gals who built airplanes during World War II—need her help, it’s up to Rosie to save the day.
“Iggy, Rosie, and Ada have delighted and inspired readers everywhere with their boundless curiosity and can-do spirit” says Andrew Smith. “We’re thrilled that their millions of fans will now have more adventures to look forward to as the world of the Questioneers expands in this all-new chapter book series!”
A multifaceted marketing campaign for Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters is planned, including a new Questioneers.com website, advertising, retail promotion, author tour, and a large social media presence.
