Dr. Perri Klass is an eminent pediatrician and professor of journalism and pediatrics at New York University. She is also the national medical director of Reach Out and Read, a childhood literacy program in the US. A multi-award-winning author of numerous books on parenting and medicine, she writes a weekly column—”The Checkup”—for the New York Times science section. She has three children.
