Growing up in the heart of northern Utah's famous fruit country, Lori Nawyn savored the goodness of locally grown fruits. Her early teen years were spent picking pie cherries in her father's orchard and making jam with her grandmother. Late summer brought one of the country's longest running harvest celebrations--Brigham City Utah's Peach Days. Peach cobblers, pies, turnovers, cakes, and shakes dotted the culinary landscape of area events; the humble peach was seldom used for anything except dessert. That left Lori thinking: what if the fruit was destined for something more? She is an author of three books, Flight Plan, A Year's Journey, and Love, Hugs, and Hope. She is the mother of four and is married to a fireman.
